Portrait Bar

Led by Bar Director and longtime industry veteran Darryl Chan, The Portrait Bar is an urban retreat inside The Fifth Avenue Hotel where guests can enjoy sophisticated cocktails and elevated bar fare by a striking stone fireplace. Chan’s cocktail list is a mix of modern and classic variations that evoke a sense of place and are inspired by collective travels from around the world.

“Some highlights include Cebu Island, a modern take on a beautiful day at the beach in the form of a clear cocktail with distinct flavors of coconut and calamansi, while Torino brings together everything that we love most about Italian aperitivo culture, breathing this feeling in the essence of a highball. As the leaves begin to fall, transport yourself to a crisp autumn day in Japan with our Kochi — a cozy cocktail made for slow sipping on brisk New York nights. This inviting blend of Suntory Toki, Cynar, Yuzu, Star Anise, and Sarsaparilla reimagines the whisky sour with classic, comforting flavors.”

Swan Room

Swan Room found at Nine Orchard Hotel is a breathtaking space with an impressive cocktail program that offers a martini service unlike any other we have seen. They also have a martini list where you can try renditions such as a sunchoke martini with mezcal and manzanilla sherry or a gin infused lemongrass and honey variation.

Tusk Bar & BRASS

Located in the Art Deco lobby of The Evelyn Hotel lies Tusk Bar. Tusk Bar is a glamorous space that gives a nod to the roaring 20s. Some highlights on the menu are the “Mignonette Gibson” with Fords gin, Dolin blanc, shallot vinegar, black pepper, and pickled onion and “The Ruby Slipper” that consists of yogurt washed Amass gin, Amante aperitivo, citrus vermouth, grapefruit soda, and cucumber.

BRASS is their newest restaurant concept from Chef Partners Jeremiah Stone, Fabian von Hauske Valtierra, and Bar Director Tristan Brunel who showcase a concise list of “surprise and delight” cocktail riffs meets a selection of Two Sippers which are small pours of more traditional offerings. “BRASS is an American brasserie reimagined for a new golden era of dining out in New York City. The 70-seat dining room features transportive color-soaked architecture, modernist frescos hand-painted by California-based Jessalyn Brooks, and an antique piano balanced with original space details including the tile flooring and oversized skylight. The room is centered on a vintage piano, sourced from an Atlanta church, where funk jazz will be the focus of live playing, along with special programming slated to include nights paying homage to favorite artists.”

Sip & Guzzle

“Sip & Guzzle is a bi-level craft cocktail bar offering two experiences by international bartending icons, Shingo Gokan and Steve Schneider. Each brings 20 years of bartending and bar operations experience that includes the U.S., Asia and Latin America.

The street-level Guzzle, helmed by Schneider of Employees Only Singapore, serves perfected classics and crushable comfort cocktails like a Miami Vice Negroni which has flavors of fresh strawberries and the aroma of coconut, but maintains the balance and integrity of the classic Negroni.

Sip, a subterranean speakeasy led by Gokan, serves reinterpreted cocktails from his world-renowned Tokyo bar, The SG Club, for the first time in the U.S. His advanced technique-driven creations incorporate ingredients like wagyu beef and sushi vinegar.”

She has worked almost every position you can work in restaurants and immersed herself in the culinary world where her main passion lies. When she isn't finding your perfect restaurant to go to on a Friday night, she is at the farmers market gathering produce to thoughtfully prepare a home cooked meal while sipping on a negroni and lending an ear to some of the greats like Nina Simone and Billie Holiday.
